The Pen is mightier than the sword, but the Pen must sometimes move the sword against corruption if the corrupt are not moved by the pen.. An idea without an implementer is useless. "The Rulers do not carry the sword in vain"Rom 13:4

The Decimal Point which nearly destroyed the world. (Manhattan Project)

As the various scientists gathered to contemplate the impending detonation of the first Atomic bomb..one of them had a cold scared face. He then announced that he was worried that if the bomb successfully detonated, it could take out the whole world.
He left the meeting of ashen faced scientists...

Later he returned looking less fearful.. "Don't worry.. It's going to be ok... I checked my figures and noticed I had the demimal place in the wrong spot!"

IF they had not managed to get this deterrent up and running....Nazi  Germany and Imperial Japan would have !

That would have at least destroyed 'our' world.

So much can depend on such small things as a decimal point.

There is a point in history by which the World was changed forever, but it didn't involve any bomb.

31 He (Jesus) then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again. 32 He spoke plainly about this,

We tend to want a Messiah who can be the warrior the hero, the fixit man.... but what kind of Messiah was Jesus? the above verse is clear.... Our stubborn reaction is often like Peters...

and Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him.

Jesus provided the reason for his coming death in saying "

  45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.’

Which is a reflection of the Old Testament prophecy of Isaiah 53:

But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to our own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.

COMMENT.  You and your family might like to contemplate that eternal truth this Easter ? I will.
