The Pen is mightier than the sword, but the Pen must sometimes move the sword against corruption if the corrupt are not moved by the pen.. An idea without an implementer is useless. "The Rulers do not carry the sword in vain"Rom 13:4

The Danger of Social Fear!

"People might not believe something, but they might think everyone else believes it" Steve Pinker, Psychologist.

Sometimes when something controversial is said by someone, the first thought that comes into your mind is..."Oh... I believe that, but good GOD!...If I showed that I did, all these people will be on my like a Pit Bull on a Chiwahwa!"

This is the danger of....'fear'.

This kind of fear emanates from our deepest needs for security and acceptance. The last thing most people want is to be given a kind of social 'time out' by everyone else.

In politics, and social reality, it seems this might be the purpose (deliberate or unwitting) of 'Protest'....it is to give the impression that there are some very committed and passionate people 'out there' who will do just about anything to shut you up, (on some issues) or to try to make you 'speak up' (in their favor).....on others.

I had a conversation with a conservative Christian fellow last night but before I lead into that, here is the background context...there was a kind of 'after party' discussion going on following a convention speakers presentation, but to my stunned surprise, I found it was the 'ex member for Eastern Victoria, a member of the Liberal party' who was yabbering away. This is the first time ever that I've seen openly political chirpings and mutterings at this Christian convention.
I asked this young bloke... "Do you know what God told the prophet "Hosea" to do?  He hummed and haahed a bit not sure of the answer... and I filled it in for him:

When the Lord began to speak through Hosea, the Lord said to him, “Go, marry a promiscuous woman and have children with her, for like an adulterous wife this land is guilty of unfaithfulness to the Lord.” So he married Gomer daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son.

Now considering we are talking about lives, children, futures and destinies....this is quite radical stuff you might say. Other translations use the word "prostitute" instead of promiscuous.  Then...and this is the connection to the opening blab above: I asked him..."How about this.... we go to Trades Hall, and hold up a banner that says: 'ONE RACE/ONE NATION' such as the one below:
You'll need to read the fine print to understand what is really being said here. But now... let's enhance this image in a peculiar and perhaps unexpected way! Notice that the colors (except the green) are very close to those used by the National Socialists (interestingly, they are also used by Marxists and 'Progressives') This is deliberate. Now.. considering just the image above, how would you feel holding up one end if you are white?  How about if you are black, or Asian or Indian? Now.... let's go one step further:

I've used conspicuously white and black males to add some more richness to the overall impression, and bring out the real intent of the 'operation'.  Ideally, a black person and a white person would hold up each end of the banner. Their presence appears to be a direct contradiction of the message right?  I think this would attract both the most vile animosity from bigoted leftists and some pondering thought from normal people.

Even though I'd prepped this young bloke with the "Hosea" background, I could see him look worried at the suggestion of this banner.

In the final analysis, this is an evangelistic message that seeks to point out (when the fine print is read) that "In Christ" all the social diseases such as racism, sexism and slavery are gone, we are all....'one' in Christ.

Brad Pitt.... in Melbourne there is a thoroughfare in a shopping centre where some joker has put up little sign things  along the wall every few meters which say "Brad Pitt gave a million dollars in support of Marriage Equality".  This is a clear attempt to subliminally alter the opinions of passers by about homosexual marriage without them realizing it.

If you become aware that 'BRAD PITT'...(the sexiest man alive yada yada) is in favor of 'Gay Marriage' and people respect his opinion, how could you even think of being the odd man or woman out????

Get my drift? I am not in the slightest influenced by such things....or... am I?  Perhaps next time I want to give a speech in a public place (for example) in support of traditional family, is it possible that I will 'fear' doing so because of the impact of me thinking 'but others do' (support it/believe in it). No...ain't gonna happen in this lifetime!

I do hope you will now review why you act in certain ways on certain occasions, and try to be a more independent thinker on social issues.
