The Long March in Paris, strong on Symbolism, Short on Substance!

The quotes below relates to  Marseilles in 2012

Earlier this month, Samia Ghali, the mayor of the 15th and 16th arrondissements of Marseille, which embrace most of the poor northern districts, detonated a verbal bombshell. She said that the drug-related violence in northern Marseille had become so extreme that only the army could defeat it. She called on the government to deploy troops to confiscate the cheap automatic weapons flowing in from the Balkans and North Africa and to interrupt a drug trade which is, she says, conducted with impunity. (Independent)

That report is from a Left wing source. Now try a Right wing version...not much difference but less citations of sources. Sings the same tune though:

Muslims have now set up unofficial checkpoints in various parts of Marseilles. Anyone entering “their” area has to stop and submit to inspection. Last week, the driver of a van belonging to a food bank, which distributes free food and drink to poor people, was stopped by a group of “jeunes” when trying to enter the Marseilles district of “Air-Bel”. The road had been barred with concrete blocks and bins filled with sand. They searched his vehicle “like policemen applying the law in their territory” in order to “check there weren’t any policemen inside”. When they saw he only had milk, they let him pass through. (FrontPage Magazine)

I tend to agree with the Mayor of Ghali, "The Army is the only solution".

The main difference between a Left and Right wing view of the same situation like this is that the Left will try to explain the problem in terms of social disadvantage and claim that the solution is to hurl uncountable barrows of money at it, 'create' jobs, punish 'racism' (among whites) and the problem will disappear.  The Right is more about Jackboots and jingoism.

The problem goes far deeper.

At the heart of this type of problem is the world view and mindset of different cultures, races and religions.  It is enough that people look different, it's worse if they have different cultural values, it is catastrophic if they also hold religious views that are vehemently opposed to those of the host nation. This is not a 'right' wing rant, it is sound Yale social psychology. An experiment called the 'robbers cave' used groups of people from the same background to determine how groups create their own identity and how they regard non them.

Unfortunately, as I've been saying quite a bit about lately, there is something I term 'political' truth and 'real' truth. Political 'truth' so so speak, is something politicians want you to believe and accept, in spite of it not being true.
They will go to energetic ends, using the media, public statements, policy, the whole gamut of their political arsenal, to make you believe 'thus and so'.  They have some formidable weapons at their disposal, as recounted here in Edward Bernays monumental volume "Propaganda"

“The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. ...We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. This is a logical result of the way in which our democratic society is organized. Vast numbers of human beings must cooperate in this manner if they are to live together as a smoothly functioning society. ...In almost every act of our daily lives, whether in the sphere of politics or business, in our social conduct or our ethical thinking, we are dominated by the relatively small number of persons...who understand the mental processes and social patterns of the masses. It is they who pull the wires which control the public mind.”

For this reason, I call on all sides to this kind of discussion to put your thinking caps on, and rely on proven social research rather than ratbag 'political' truth to form your opinions. It is not 'social disadvantage' which is the core of the problem at Marseilles (or the other of the 751 'no go' areas in France)  it is a twofold problem of lazy government in denial, and cultural/religious/racial difference, coupled with Islamo/criminal elements who control these areas by thuggery and intimidation. On that note, you might wonder how things are going in Afghanistan? How it works... this is how it works...the Taliban come in by night, they single out some individuals, inform them that they must plant x number of IED's in certain places, and if they don't their families will be murdered. I got this information from a high ranking military person who spent time at Kandahar and Taren Kaut.   He then told me how they find the real culprits rather than just bombing those planting the IED's, but to pass on that would be to infringe important security limits.

There is one, and only one means of overcoming group difference, and that was found to be 'a common enemy' which is more than likely why the French government tries to organize this massive rally and march.  But March's don't fix these kinds of problems, they only make people feel better for a day or two. Apparently, Napoleon was facing dramatic problems with his army as they struggled awfully when crossing the freezing Alps.... he ordered that the National Anthem be played- La Marseillaise... suddenly, 'there were no Alps'......History and Psychology are our best weapons in the fight against the political establishments efforts to baffle us with b/s, and guide our gullibility.

“If political correctness means that facts can no longer be called by their name,” he concluded, “then society is robbing itself of a viable future.” (writer Peter Schneider)

I feel sorry for the deluded mesmerized masses on display in Paris, though I'd probably have been with them for the experience. But if they are hoping that a large show of mass solidarity will make an iota of difference to the Islamists they are living in lala land. We seem to wrongly think these people are living in the same stream of history and sociology as ourselves....they are not!  Herein lies the problem. Now imagine how this march might have gone... this is surreal... other members of the same network which attacked Charlie, could have pre-planned a number of suicide bombers ready for just such a march. No one can tell me that with 3 million people the police can check every individual. Then imagine the scene after those bombs were set off... a crowd of 3 million????  it would have been mass panic, pandemonium and  chaos on a scale unimaginable. I think we could be sure of one thing, lives lost in such a mass panic would far exceed all those lost in the initial attack!

Of all things, the solution is NOT a bunch of starry eyed, frightened world leaders singing Kum Ba Ya while holding each others arms.
Yes.. difficult and bitter to the pallet of the conscience, but the following is necessary!
  • There must be an immediate retaking of control of all areas currently considered "no go".. the military will have to be used.
  • Very harsh interrogation techniques must be used to identify all those in the present criminal/Islamo networks.
  • The rule of 'due process' in the legal sense must be suspended, and all those found to be linked to the networks are to be executed summarily. (State of Emergency measures)
  • Laws must be introduced in a form which will restrict the ability of Muslims to gather in ghettos. Probably a limit on the number which can settle or buy in any place. Discrimination you say ? ABSOLUTELY...and only a complete idiot would allow their mind to be manipulated in a moment like this by that absurd UN convention.
  • All Islamic immigration must be stopped forthwith.
Hard as that approach might seem, it is the only workable one. (this is very much the flavor of the French revolution and the final solution to the so called Paris Commune... mass executions and a retaking of the city.) If you ever wonder why Paris has wide boulevards today, it is because the narrow lanes and streets were previously used by the Commune-ists to effectively barricade out the civil authorities.
