The Pen is mightier than the sword, but the Pen must sometimes move the sword against corruption if the corrupt are not moved by the pen.. An idea without an implementer is useless. "The Rulers do not carry the sword in vain"Rom 13:4

Christianity leads to violence....right?

Just read this and see it the title is true!

‘Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
    for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
    for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
    for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

The above forms just a part of the most peaceful ;sermon'   ever. The "Sermon on the Mount".

Search high and low, far and wide...up and down and you will not find any command or directive by Jesus to his disciples (then and/or now) which can be used to justify or promote  violent aggression against others.

There are two incidents which require some explanation that might be wrongly used to dispute the above paragraph.

-Jesus chased out the money changers from the temple with a whip.
-Jesus told his disciples 'bring a sword' (only Peter obtained one) where Peter subsequently used that sword to slice off the ear of one person who had come to arrest Jesus.

i) In both cases, there was a 'prophecy fulfillment element being carried out.
ii) These incidents were only related to the Messiah, not the masses who follow him.
iii) When Peter harmed the man with his sword, Jesus immediately healed the man and told his disciples to put that kind of thing away from them.

I have less than the time of day for the usual shrill hysterics of "But what about the crusades and inquisition?"
Yep...what about them? Captain Cook also sailed to Australia in 1770 and Christopher Columbus found America in 1492 and that has about as much to do with Christs teaching as the Crusades and Inquistion. Nuff said.

Christs teaching does not lead to voilence, but THIS teaching does!

Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled. Quran 9:29
