CNN and Soledad Obrien- finally outed as Racists!

stairway to heaven led zeppelin

This won't take long... you might call it a 'summary execution' of CNN in a verbal way!

Ever since I viewed their ultra racist program "Who is Black in America" I've been incenced that such a racist program could even get to air!

It was the clearest example for a long time of  "Abolish the white race-by any means"

Soledad Obrien opened the issue with a question to a girl with a white father and a black mother.
"Why are you so reluctant to say 'I'm black, get over it'?"

Now.. that very first quesiton shows the racist dimension of the whole show. Why did she not ask "Why are you reluctant to say 'I'm white get over it'?"  It so happens that this girl freely shared that she didn't 'feel' black, though she sees that it's part of her identity.

HOORAY.. at least she does her dad the honour of including him in her identity.. after all.. he did join his genes with the mum to produce this girl as a child.

But this show just rampages on, slashing and burning all references to 'white' as a valid identity and trys to corner mixed race white/african americans into saying "I'm Black"....rather than the simple truth "I'm mixed", but even that's unnecessary... for crying out loud.. it's better by far to just say "I'm human".... Why does identity politics have to enter into it at all?

Soledad Obrien herself is mixed race..her dad is one of my mob "White Aussie" and her mum is 'Cuban'.... but she drifts off into the twilight zone for a moment when she explains "My parents took a different approach, we live in a white community, but my parents told me 'your black'".. what the ?????  That's plain silly I'm afraid.. why should she not 'be' what she is.. a 'person' of mixed ancestry?
Living in a white community, why would parents tell her she is 'black'... especially when the mum is not 'black' but Cuban... it's absurd, and maybe it explains why the show seems to really be a projection of Soledad Obrien's own family life story. Rather narcissistic if you ask me. It's like she produces a whole show just to impose her own parental stupidity on the rest of the country.

It reminds me of the intolerance expressed in Herbert Marcuse 1965 essay "Repressive Tolerance"

THIS essay examines the idea of tolerance in our advanced industrial society. The conclusion reached is that the realization of the objective of tolerance would call for intolerance toward prevailing policies, attitudes, opinions, and the extension of tolerance to policies, attitudes, and opinions which are outlawed or suppressed. In other words, today tolerance appears again as what it was in its origins, at the beginning of the modern period--a partisan goal, a subversive liberating notion and practice.

I wonder if Soledad went to Columbia University or Brandeis in her youth. Marcuse was a demigod at those institutions then.

Aah.. well that's where we arrive at CNN as a commercial and political enterprise. Not only are they trying to support a left wing/Democrat political platform, they are also trying to make money, and for that you must have an audience. So.. go figure how that translates into the selection of show content and the associated emphases.

AS if CNN could not get any more racist by selection and emphasis and absence of criticism of genuine hate crimes.. check this out.
VENUE.. "Republican National Convention".. oooh..now we should be able to sniff out a couple of (white) racists there... let's look.. YES.. we found some..

On Tuesday night, two attendees threw nuts at a black CNN camerawoman and said, "this is how we feed the animals." Multiple witnesses saw the incident, and police immediately removed the two attendees from the convention center. CNN confirmed that the incident happened via a statement released on Tuesday, but did not have further comment at the time.

Assuming this was not a left wing false flag stunt to discredit the Republicans at a crucial election time, the level of abuse was...'serious'  no question about that. It might not have even been race related, it might have simply been 'CNN' related. Anyway, the question we fair and balanced people need answered is...... why CNN has not given air time to the African American in Los Angeles who shouted in a public place that "black men need to murder whites and kill their babies"? Far and way out there in relative impact and bile compared to the mocking tone of a couple of republican 'attendees'....

Speaking as a white father of 3 beautiful mixed race children (Australian/Asian) I find my firstborn son tends to identify proudly with his mums side (Indigenous Bornean tribal) and is marrying a pure Chinese girl, and my other son is with a pure white girl and doesn't really think about identity much at all. My daughter is with a Maori bloke and he is half Irish half Maori.

To all Americans.. RUN as far and as fast as you can from the racism and divisiveness of CNN and Soledad Obrien and embrace each other as humans. Forget about race... just think 'people'.

"In Christ there is neither Jew nor Gentile, slave nor fee, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus" (Gal 3:28)
